DROPSHIPPING 101: How to Get Started with Dropshipping

I began reselling from suppliers who drop ship since January of this year and so far, it has been great and the income is quite good for something you can simply do on your phone. Here's a a guide on how to use drop shipping to your advantage in the Philippines, and in other countries.

Find out what you are personally interested in

This is practical advice. Even if you're just starting out as a middleman / re-seller, find out what sort of products you are interested in.

You're going to be initially putting in advertising and marketing work, so why not make sure that you're selling something you have knowledge about?

Why would you resell car parts and tools when you aren't interested in car parts and tools?

You don't have to completely be passionate about your product, but you need to least have a slight interest in it. So, go on and  figure out what sort of products you could sell without getting bored of it.

Scout for a Supplier

Now that you have a product in mind, say, women's clothing, search online for companies that are selling those products wholesale. Those companies usually offer dropshipping services.

You could try to google the product, add in the words "supplier, dropship, your country,". There would always be a site that would pop up.

Get their contact details, and send them a polite email asking how you could resell for them if they offer to dropship.

Utilize Social Networking Sites

Google is great and all, but most of your local businesses could be found on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

If you aren't satisfied with Google results, you could search for shops in Facebook and Instagram.

Again, simply check if they offer drop shipping services and send then a Personal Message on Facebook and Direct Message on Instagram.

Respect and Observe the Company's Policy

Oftentimes the company /shop would already have a streamlined system when it comes to orders, deliveries, inquiries, and payments.

Once you've been accepted as a reseller, most of the big companies would send you an email containing their catalog, important contact details, and vital information regarding their operational policies.

This is your guide in selling.

Make sure to observe their policies and you're good to go.

Post and Advertise

This is where you'll put in a bit of work in re-posting products on your social networking sites or website.

You can also try selling in Shopee or Carousell and other apps that offer a platform for buyers and sellers to interact.

Of course, there are times when posting might not be enough so you'll have to edit the pictures out a bit to make them more appealing.

You would also need to write engaging photo captions for your product.

You also have to consider your platform and advertise accordingly.

Be Polite and Courteous to Your Customers

Answer customer inquiries and let them feel at ease while dealing with you.

Ensure that the transaction is smooth and that the customer trusts you.

Follow up on their payments and follow up on their shipments.

Remember that a transaction isn't a complete transaction until the goods have passed to the buyer, according to the accrual basis of accounting.

Showcase Your Customer Feedback

Did you receive a positive review on your product? You can screenshot it, then compile it on an album.

Not only will this make your previous customers happy, but having positive feedback displayed will encourage potential customers to order from you.
